Community Memorial Hospital’s Summer Nursing Internship provides student nurses opportunities to build skills and enhance understanding of nursing professionalism in a rural healthcare setting. During the paid internship, students will become immersed in a patient care team and gain experience by partnering directly with registered nurse mentors to collaborate on the delivery of excellent patient care.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Nursing Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive healthcare setting. As a Nursing Intern, you will work closely with our experienced nursing staff, assisting in the delivery of patient care and learning the practical aspects of nursing.

Key Responsibilities:

– Assist registered nurses (RNs) and other healthcare professionals in providing patient care.

– Perform basic nursing tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with patient hygiene, and preparing patient rooms.

– Observe and document patient conditions and report any changes to the nursing staff.

– Help with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.

– Participate in patient care planning and team meetings.

– Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.

– Provide emotional support to patients and their families.

Qualifications:

– Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program (BSN, ADN, or equivalent). Must be graduating this fall or next spring.

– Completion of foundational nursing courses.

– Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

– Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.

– Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced nursing staff.
