The SD Department of Health has released priority group 1D in it’s entirety to be vaccinated. Individuals who fall into this category are as follows:

  • Persons aged 65 years and older
  • High risk patients (of any age) such as those undergoing dialysis, post-transplant or with active cancer
  • Individuals who are residents of congregate living settings
  • Persons with underlying medical conditions such as: asthma, cancer, cerebrovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, COPD, cystic fibrosis, diabetes mellitus, down syndrome, heart conditions (heart failure, coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathies), high blood pressure, immunocompromised state, liver disease, neurologic conditions (such as dementia), pregnancy, pulmonary fibrosis, severe obesity (BMI greater than 40), sickle cell disease, thalassemia
  • Teachers and other school/college staff
  • Funeral service workers

Please remember if you are part of a previous priority group (healthcare worker, emergency medical services, law enforcement, public health workers, etc.) you are still eligible to receive your vaccine. At this time, we continue to have vaccine clinics weekly at the Redfield Armory. If you or anyone you know is interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, please contact the Redfield Clinic at 472-0510 to be scheduled for a vaccine.

  • In 1968, an addition was constructed, changing the bed capacity to 44. 
  • Considerable remodeling was done during this time (1968) to meet the needs of a growing community.
  • The clinic was added on to the hospital in 1991, decreasing bed capacity to 25.
  • An ambulance service was added in 1972.
  • The clinic was purchased by the hospital and city in June of 1993.
  • Designated as Critical Access Hospital in June, 2000.
